Toast for Talos Builders

I’ve been trying to come up with a song for this bit of Final Fantasy XIV plot (spoilers for the Shadowbringers expansion, BTW) for a while now, and finally twigged to how close the feeling I was aiming for was to Leslie Fish’s ode to the shipbuilders and Mission Control crew of Apollo…

Verse words: Joseph Abbott
Chorus words and music: “Step By Step,” United Mine Workers
Verse music: “Bonnie Ship the Diamond,” traditional
By way of “Toast for Unsung Heroes,” Leslie Fish

Lord Vauthry threw a snit one day
Tore a mountain off its base
And floated it into the air
To thwart those who gave chase
To face a madman with such power
Only mighty heroes dare
But it took the work of all Norvrandt
To get those heroes there

CHO: Step by step the longest march
Can be won, can be won
Many stones can build an arch
Singly none, singly none
And together what we will
Can be accomplished still
Many drops can turn a mill
Singly none, singly none

Here’s a health to the mighty warriors
Who took Lord Vauthry down
And one to the Talos builders
Who got them off the ground
To all who blazed the stone trail
Come lift your glasses high
And here’s a toast to the unknown heroes
Who reached up to the sky CHORUS

This is the bio am I doing this right? Probably not.
